The project Playful Architect celebrates a 100 Years of Architecture with children
The international artistic-architectural project Playful Architect aims to increase the children’s awareness in architecture, culture and history. On the occasion of the foundation of the independent Czechoslovak State in 1918, the celebrations include the exhibition 100 Years of Playful Architecture.
This year’s edition of Playful Architect took place again at Prague Castle and was organized in cooperation with the Prague Castle Administration. The exhibition took place at Rudolf’s Foundry from September 17 to October 21, 2018. The exhibition hosted a rich program of activities in which children were able to build their “city of the future”, and kids from more than 18 cities in the Czech and Slovak Republics arrived to Prague for the celebration. They had the chance to join in daily workshops, a photo corner and thematic lectures not only for the participating schools but also for the public.
The exhibition 100 Years of Playful Architecture also featured international children from more than 23 countries. As per instructions from the organizers, all children prepared their works in collaboration with architects or art historians and portrayed their own perception of architecture from the last 100 years.
After the dates in Prague, the exhibition is going on tour, and will be presented in Slovakia, Israel, Italy and Armenia. Mexico, South Korea, Spain and the USA are also in preparation, with future presentations planned in Russia, China and Japan.
The firm J&T Real Estate has become a proud partner of Playful Architect this year.
